Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested more than 41,000 illegal immigrants in President Donald Trump's first 100 days, a 38 percent increase over the same period in 2016, the agency reported.
"These statistics reflect President Trump's commitment to enforce our immigration laws fairly and across the board," ICE Acting Director Thomas Homan said in the release.
"ICE agents and officers have been given clear direction to focus on threats to public safety and national security, which has resulted in a substantial increase in the arrest of convicted criminal aliens," Homan said.
Nearly 75 percent of those 41,000 arrested were convicted criminals, including two MS-13 gang members, ICE reported.
Non-criminal arrests also increased by more than double since 2016; ICE arrested almost 11,000 aliens in the country illegally in Trump's first 100 days compared to just 4,000 last year, the agency said.
I want to make this clear to the bleeding heart liberals. ICE is NOT raiding people's homes. They are not scooping people up off the streets and sending them back to where they came from. They are turning people back when they catch them trying to run the border.
Under Obama, they had a sort of "catch and release" policy. They would catch people running the border, give them a summons to appear in immigration court, and release them: Inside the United States! The only ones they held were unaccompanied minors and those who were identified as convicted or wanted criminals.
It is also a fact that 80 percent of those cited ignored their summons. They just disappeared into the Mestizo community in the United States.
This is now changed. Now they are turning them back and patrolling the border much more closely and with more manpower to keep them from sneaking back in.
This helps keep illegals out and relieves the congestion in our courts. Even though 80 percent ignored their summons, immigration courts are terribly overcrowded. This helps relieve this congestion.
I don't think Trump is doing all he can, but he's doing far more than his predecessor. I'm also hearing a lot of talk from some of the big shots in D.C. about impeaching Trump. They way I see it is that if the establishment wants Trump gone, then he must be doing something right.
